Dr. Laura Cooney-Koss<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Cooney-Koss is the owner and clinical director of Forensic Associates of Delaware. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Dr. Cooney-Koss obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology, with a specialization in forensic psychology at Widener University\u2019s Institute for Graduate clinical psychology. Prior to receiving this degree, she earned her Master\u2019s Degrees in both clinical psychology and criminal justice at Widener University. Dr. Cooney-Koss is also credentialed by the Delaware Sex Offender Management Board as a Sex Offense Service Provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Cooney-Koss developed Forensic Associates of Delaware as a way of providing superior forensic psychological evaluations to Delaware and its neighboring states. She takes pride in her work and the work of her staff. Dr. Cooney-Koss diligently strives to ensure that the sometimes competing needs of attorneys, organizations, licensing boards, judges, and clients are understood and considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to conducting psychological evaluations, testifying as an expert witness in Superior and Family court, and providing forensic training, Dr. Cooney-Koss, also works with varying state agencies and organizations on policy development and making amendments to laws. She hopes to assist in helping identify current misconceptions about mental illness and criminal offending and make appropriate modifications to existing laws and policies. Dr. Cooney-Koss serves on several committees in Delaware and is a professional member of the Board of Psychological Examiners in Delaware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Cooney-Koss also strives to decrease criminal offending through community education and training.  Although Dr. Cooney-Koss specializes in all forensic matters, she has a particular expertise with regard to sexual offending, sexual victimization, trauma, and juvenile delinquency. Dr. Cooney-Koss regularly conducts presentations on these issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to opening Forensic Associates of Delaware, Dr. Cooney-Koss, was a psychologist for 11 years at South Woods State Prison in New Jersey. Dr. Cooney-Koss engaged in a variety of clinical and administrative capacities while at South Woods State Prison including overseeing the evaluation and release process for all inmates with a mental health history as well as inmates with a sexual offense. Additionally, Dr. Cooney-Koss regularly conducted sexual offense risk assessments for the Attorney General\u2019s office in order to determine the appropriateness for an offender to be committed post-release under New Jersey\u2019s Sexually Violent Predator law. Dr. Cooney-Koss’ other responsibilities included conducting forensic psychological evaluations, engaging in crisis intervention, developing mental health programs, and providing therapeutic services for inmates. She also supervised licensed and unlicensed psychologists as well as developed and oversaw the psychology internship program for doctoral level psychology students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside of her correctional work, Dr. Cooney-Koss also has provided therapy for clients with a broad range of mental health issues in outpatient and inpatient treatment settings as well as conducted evaluations and therapy for survivors of sexual abuse. Dr. Rachel Brandenburg<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Brandenburg is a licensed psychologist in the state of Delaware.  She graduated in 2008 from Nova Southeastern University with her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in the assessment and treatment of severe mental illness. She went on to complete her internship at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital and ultimately landed in Delaware, working as the Mental Health Director for James T. Vaughn Correctional Center. During her time at these institutions, Dr. Brandenburg conducted psychological evaluations.<\/span> From there, Dr. Brandenburg respecialized in Child Custody Evaluation and focused her private practice conducting evaluations for individuals involved in Delaware Family Court proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Brandenburg has experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, neuropsychological evaluations, psychoeducational testing and forensic evaluations in a wide variety of settings and with a diverse population. Dr. Brandenburg additionally works with the Division of Family Services as a contractor, conducting forensic psychological evaluations for adults involved in treatment with DFS and Family Court proceedings. She is also a contracted consultant at Rockford Center, conducting evaluations for adolescents with complex mental health needs. She has worked with local schools providing training and psychoeducational testing. In her practice at Forensic Associates of Delaware, Dr. Brandenburg evaluates both adults and juveniles for a variety of forensic purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Allison Dovi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Dovi is a licensed psychologist in Delaware. A graduate of Michigan State University, Dr. Dovi obtained her PhD in School Psychology at the University of Houston and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Rowan University School of Medicine\u2019s Child Abuse Research, Education, & Service (CARES) Institute. Dr. Dovi has provided evaluation and treatment services to individuals and families in a variety of settings, such as, juvenile justice systems, county prisons, schools, medical hospitals, inpatient psychiatric facilities, and outpatient clinics. In regards to Dr. Dovi\u2019s evaluation experience, she has experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, neuropsychological evaluations, psychoeducational testing, and forensic evaluations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Dovi conducts a variety of forensic evaluations with Forensic Associates of Delaware, with a particular focus on sex offense risk assessment with adults. In addition to her work at the Forensic Associates of Delaware, Dr. Dovi is employed as a staff psychologist at a pediatric institution where she specializes in the evaluation and treatment of youth and families with histories of childhood trauma and\/or problematic sexual behaviors. She is also a certified therapist in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Alex Gould<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Gould is a licensed clinical psychologist in Delaware. He obtained his doctorate in clinical psychology from Widener University\u2019s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. Dr. Gould conducts a variety of types of forensic evaluations with Forensic Associates of Delaware. Dr. Gould has experience doing a range of psychological assessments, including assessments for academic accommodations, diagnostic clarification, and forensic-related matters, with a particular focus on sex offense risk assessment. In addition to his work at Forensic Associates of Delaware, Dr. Gould is employed as a staff psychologist at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center where he engages in individual and group treatment with veterans in outpatient and inpatient settings. He specializes in the treatment of post-traumatic stress, depressive and anxiety disorders, and substance abuse disorders. Dr. Gould regularly evaluates clients at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center in order to determine if their psychiatric symptoms are related to their military service. As part of his work, Dr. Gould also supervises doctoral level practicum students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Rachel Klein<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Rachel Klein is a licensed clinical psychologist in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.  <\/span>She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology at Widener University\u2019s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her training and post-graduate experience has included work with individuals, couples, and families, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  <\/span>Dr. Klein has worked with a broad range of presenting problems, with expertise in trauma, inappropriate sexual behavior, and substance abuse.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Klein is also currently employed at the Wilmington VA Medical Center, where she provides individual and group therapy.  <\/span>She also created and leads the hospital\u2019s first outpatient eating disorder treatment program. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to her transition to the Wilmington VA Medical Center, Dr. Klein worked as a correctional psychologist within the New Jersey Department of Corrections. There she developed a passion for forensic assessment while conducting evaluations for a variety of purposes, but also with a specialized focus in the area of sexual risk of recidivism. Dr. Klein has been able to expand on this work with Forensic Associates of Delaware, conducting psychological evaluations for both adults and juveniles in the community, as well as correctional settings, with a particular specialty in performing psychosexual evaluations.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Autumn has a Bachelor\u2019s degree with distinction in psychology from the University of Delaware. Though continuously exploring her interests, at the moment she is interested in violence and suicide, personality, trauma, and internalizing and externalizing disorders. Autumn is also interested in evaluating and diagnosing individuals with mental health disorders.
